Age-wise Food And Care For Pomeranians
The dietary needs of a Pomeranian are limited. You do not need to spend a fortune to get food for your Pom puppy every month. However, your pet does need kibble that is rich in protein, fats, amino acids, carbohydrates, minerals, and vitamins. It needs to be fed enough to aid its growth while preventing it from getting obese. The sensitive frame of a Pomeranian should be treated very carefully with the food you give. While your Pom puppy is likely to burn all the calories it gains, stay mindful of what you feed it.
Along with the nutrients your pet gets, the frequency at which you feed your Pomeranian also matters. Here is the ideal feeding routine you should follow while nurturing your Pomeranian at different phases of its life:
Under 2 Months
Before your Pom puppy gets two months old, there is no need to feed it a structured diet. You can trust your Pomeranian to not over-eat at this age. You can simply keep the kibble at its disposal throughout the day and have it eat according to its convenience.
Between 2 And 6 Months
As your Pomeranian gets a little older, you can feed it a structured diet. At this stage of its life, you can feed it three meals per day to help it grow into a healthy adult. While monitoring its daily food intake, make sure your furry friend does not go overboard with the eating.
Above 6 Months
Once your Pom puppy crosses the six-month mark, you can further reduce its dietary routine to two meals per day. Your pet can have its favorite snacks and treats in the middle of two meals. However, adult Pomeranians should never eat more than what is absolutely necessary for them to stay healthy.
